Tough Stuff

I may look like a girly girl on the outside, but deep down I’m a tough cookie with an attitude…at least that’s what my mom says. 😛

I bet you can’t guess what that bracelet is made up of … the INNER TUBE OF A BICYCLE WHEEL.

Yes, you heard me, it’s made from a bicycle wheel. Urban Lace Jewelry thought of a way to turn trash into something absolutely gorgeous. With a variety of designs and sizes to fit your personal style, you can promote eco-friendly stylish jewelry.

For those who don’t believe my claim…

Ways I am more of a “Tough Cookie”
1. I have perfected the evil eye that gives my students the shiver from head to toe.
2. I’ve killed countless of cockroaches.
3. I can hold my bladder for up to 9 hours straight (I know, probably not a healthy thing)
4. I can craft for 8 hours straight while withstanding the pain of paper cuts and hot glue burns.

Have I changed your opinion? 🙂

What makes you tough?

I don’t know about you, this this week has been the longest shortest week ever! Today is a staff day at my school so yay for no lesson planning! Instead, common core here we come! (Teacher thing. Don’t worry if you don’t understand. 🙂 )

I was a little bit worried when I received this scarf as a Christmas present. The pink was brighter than I was used to, so I decided to make it the ONLY color I was wearing today to balance it out. I think it worked. What do you think?

Oh yea, I almost forgot….Happy Chinese New Year!

Pop of Pink

The Problem: You want to wear a simple T-shirt, but you’re headed to work and that simply is not acceptable.
The Fix: Just throw on a skirt that POPS, heels, and a statement necklace, and make it a day.

Happy Friday!

Oh and can you spot in my pictures the thing that reveals I am a teacher? 🙂 (You can see it in the third picture as well as in some of my other posts. Ha.)

The Red Brocade

Last weekend, I took off my teacher hat and partied it up in Florida at my cousin’s wedding. If you don’t know already, I have been blessed with a wonderfully big extended family. We are so tight-knit that it’s kind of scary and weird to some people. Here are some snippets:

What I wore:
Dress
: AnthropologieSimilar // Necklace: Talbots – Similar – Sale
Shoes: DSW: Similar

I loved wearing this red dress so much that I decided to try and dress it down for work.

Sweater: Anthropologie – Similar // Boots: DSW – Similar
Belt: Anthropologie – Similar

Note: Do not be confused with Brocade and Brigade.

BTW, I know some of you may be wondering “Why all the fashion posts? Where’s all the crafts?” Well, getting dressed is a MUST-DO, while crafting is a MAY-DO. I can’t show up to work in my PJ’s now, can I? When I have more time to craft, don’t worry, you’ll be the first to know.
